Rocado s.r.l, the tannery that produces Italian shell cordovan, is located in the Tuscany region of Italy and has specialized in horsehide for more than 30 years.

Unlike cowhide, horsehide is obtained only from horses that have died naturally. Rocado sources only high-quality raw hides from Germany and Poland, which are then carefully tanned.

The tannery also insists on 100% handwork throughout the entire process, including vegetable tanning, and produces leather through an environmentally friendly method that uses only natural materials.

Under the slogan “Open Tannery,” Rocado s.r.l is a rare tannery that combines eco-friendly and traditional processes with a young mindset, constantly embracing new experiments and technological development.

It was also once a partner of “Shell Cordovan Toscana Italia,” a cordovan brand that was introduced in Korea early on as “Italian Shell Cordovan.”

After the company was separated, Rocado began presenting itself under the original tannery name, ROCADO, introducing the high-quality, richly glazed cordovan we are familiar with, along with experimental new articles.
